Southeast Community College uses the the Integrated Post-secondary Education Data System’s (IPEDS) definition of “certificate or degree-seeking, first time, full-time, undergraduate student” as one who has no prior post-secondary experience attending any institution for the first time at the undergraduate level and enrolling in at least 12 semester credit hours during the Fall semester. This includes students enrolled in academic or occupational programs. It also includes students enrolled in the fall term who attended college for the first time in the prior summer session, as well as students who entered with advanced standing (i.e. college credits or recognized post-secondary credential earned before graduation from high school).
