Central City’s Peter Paul graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Powersports Technology in May and won the gold at the SkillsUSA Championship in June.

Many learners in the area have their first experience at SCC in high school by taking dual credit classes through the Southeast Nebraska Career Academy Partnership or Lincoln Public School’s The Career Academy.

Southeast Community College saw a significant fall enrollment increase, exceeding 10,000 students for the first time in over a decade.

Southeast Community College President Dr. Paul Illich commemorated 10 years at the College with a campus-wide celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Lincoln Campus.

The Lowe’s Foundation awarded $470,000 to Southeast Community College as part of the 2024 cohort receiving Gable Grants. Overall, nearly $8 million was awarded to 11 community colleges. The grant will enable SCC to enhance its Prison Education Program.

Starting in July 2024, Doane University will lease classroom and office spaces to begin offering Doane’s Lincoln campus undergraduate programs at Southeast Community College’s campus.

Stu Osterthun, administrative director for marketing and communications, is retiring from Southeast Community College after 16 years of service effective May 17, 2024. His last day in the office was March 29.
