Medicare can be a complicated topic. Worse yet, misinformation can lead to decisions that may result in penalties and a delay of benefits. To avoid mistakes, you are invited to learn about the basics of Medicare and what you need to consider as you approach Medicare eligibility.

Medicare drug plans can be confusing, and coverage often changes yearly affecting the cost. Knowing how to pick the right plan to meet your needs is important to ensure you get the best coverage at the lowest cost. Navigating Medicare.gov will give you the tools to help make an informed decision.

Protect Your Medicare

It is estimated that Medicare loses over $60 billion annually to Medicare fraud and abuse. What’s more, Medicare fraud and abuse can potentially impact your Medicare benefits, resulting in a delay or denial of coverage. Protect Your Medicare will give you the tools to help you prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud.

Medicare Open Enrollment

Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plan changes may affect your premiums, copays, drug coverage and/or health care benefits. Because of this, you are encouraged to compare your plan options during Medicare’s Open Enrollment, October 15-December 7, every year. Nebraska SHIP counselors are trained to provide confidential and unbiased one-on-one support to help you determine your plan options.
