Program Description

Our Design & Drafting Technology program gives you a career blueprint with a variety of options. We combine computer-aided drafting and architectural design which can be used in both residential and commercial construction.

In the Design & Drafting Technology – Designing Software certificate program, you’ll gain a comprehensive knowledge of and how to effectively use a number of design software packages, including Inventor, 3-D Civil CAD, Solidworks, Revit, and SDS/2. Knowledge of this software allows students to design both 2-D and 3-D designs.

Students in SCC’s Design & Drafting Technology program are good problem solvers and have strong analytical skills. They are detail oriented and possess a good sense of spatial awareness. The ability to work cooperatively with others and enjoy a flexible working environment are also important.

  3. Ready to apply? Complete an Application for Admission.
  4. Submit ACT, SAT, Next Generation Accuplacer, or Accuplacer test scores (reading and math) or official college transcripts showing completion of post-secondary coursework in English and math to the Admissions Office at any SCC location.
