Twink is an NPM and a retired RN and has stayed active in emergency medicine and EMS. She was an RN in the ED at Immanuel Medical Center, served as the EMS Program Director for Creighton University, the EMS education coordinator for Omaha Fire, and the Director of EMS for Mountain View Fire and Rescue in Longmont, Colorado, where she retired from that position after 12 years.
Currently, Twink is an adjunct instructor for Southeast Community College in Lincoln and is the QA/QI Coordinator for Lincoln Fire and Rescue. She has also been involved in research including enhancing critical thinking in paramedics and use of selective immobilization in the elderly. She is a well-known speaker and author of numerous articles/publications in the field of EMS.
