Scholarship Reception April 2025

On April 16, the Southeast Community College Educational Foundation welcomed nearly 130 scholarship donors, students, and friends to our inaugural Scholarship Recognition Luncheon, held at the Lincoln Campus. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, connection, and gratitude as we came together to honor the individuals and organizations who make so much possible for SCC students.

This event wasn’t just about numbers or programs – it was about you. Your generosity is the reason thousands of students are able to pursue dreams that once felt out of reach. Over the past year alone, your support helped award more than 4,100 scholarships to over 2,100 students across our campuses. That’s more than financial aid. It’s encouragement, stability, and hope for SCC students.

For many of our students, scholarships are what make college possible. They open the door to enrolling, staying on track, and ultimately entering careers that support families and strengthen our communities. That impact came to life at the luncheon as students shared their stories, and donors shared what inspired their giving. One especially moving moment came as Dr. Bobbi and Jason Berner spoke about the scholarship they created in memory of their son Kody, a welding student at SCC. Their story reminded us that giving is often deeply personal and that scholarships can carry a legacy forward.

The luncheon was a celebration of community, purpose, and lasting impact. Whether you’ve given once or established a name scholarship, your support is helping students succeed and building the future workforce of our region.

We look forward to celebrating with you again next year – please save the date for our 2026 Scholarship Recognition Luncheon on April 22nd, 2026.
