Board of Governors Vacancy

The Southeast Community College Area Board of Governors is seeking applications from interested persons to fill a vacant seat on the Board.

In order to be eligible for appointment to serve as the member representing District 4 on the SCC Board of Governors for the balance of the unexpired term, an applicant: 

• Must be a registered voter in Nebraska; 

• Must be a resident of SCC District 4 and must continue to be a resident of SCC District 4 following appointment; 

• Must have been a resident of SCC’s 15-county service area for the prior six months; 

• Must have been a resident of SCC District 4 for the prior six months; 

• Must not be an elected or appointed member of any other board relating to education; and 

• Must not be an employee of Southeast Community College.

Application Timeline 

1. Applications are due Oct. 10, 2025 by 5 pm. 
2. Applications will be reviewed during the Board of Governors Oct. 30 meeting. Finalists will be notified as soon as possible on time and location interviews will be held. 
3. Finalists will interview with the Board of Governors starting at 3:00 p.m. on Nov. 4, 2025. 
4. New Board member will be sworn in on the Nov. 18 meeting.
