ASTER LSAMP
ASTER LSAMP stands for Aligning STEM Trainees for Enterprising Research Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. This is a grant funded initiative through the National Science Foundation that seeks to increase recruitment, transfer, and retention rate, along with research engagement, and graduation rates of underrepresented minority students in the region.
This program includes:
- Stipends up to $2000 are given to scholars (distributed quarterly)
- Scholars are provided with:
- Monthly professional development opportunities
- A dedicated faculty mentor (meet with faculty mentor quarterly)
- Opportunity to attend annual symposium
- On campus research opportunities
Eligibility:
- Full-time students in a STEM focused major.
- Must maintain a 2.5 GPA.
- US Citizen, US national, lawfully admitted residents or refugees.
