WHY SCC?
What makes SCC's psychology program special?
We provide hands-on learning opportunities early in your program which many programs do not. You can join the Psychology/Sociology Club to connect with classmates and faculty and explore your interests in psychology, participate in psychology-related service learning and internships for college credit, and develop research and presentation skills through various courses, including the annual “Social Science Research Fair” where you can present your research to guest judges.
Can I study psychology online at SCC?
We have online degree options that provide the same quality education as our in-person classes. This flexibility allows you to balance your education with other responsibilities while still preparing for transfer to a four-year institution.
How will SCC prepare me for a career in psychology?
You will have the same experiences offered at a four-year school but on a smaller scale so you are more prepared when you reach your next destination. We offer real-world experiences through internships, research opportunities and service learning. You can also participate in study abroad experiences with a psychology focus.
Is psychology the right program for me?
Our program is ideal for you if you're curious about the human brain and behavior. Our students enjoy using scientific methods to analyze human behavior and have an interest in helping others.
