Program Goals – Medical Laboratory Technology program

1. Perform clinical laboratory testing by applying appropriate pre-analytical, analytical, and post-
   analytical procedures to ensure quality patient results.
2. Demonstrate professional and ethical communication with members of the healthcare team,
   patients, and external partners.
3. Apply principles of quality management, information systems, and safety to maintain
   accuracy and efficiency in laboratory operations.
4. Evaluate laboratory data to ensure reliability, accuracy, and clinical relevance.
5. Participate in training, education, and continuous professional development within the
   clinical laboratory setting.
6. Assess personal growth and performance as a developing healthcare professional through
   reflective practices in the medical laboratory profession.
7. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills learned in the MLT program to successfully pass a
   national certifying examination for medical laboratory technicians.
