Morris Family Establishes New Scholarship at SCC

For more than four decades, Mark Morris built a career and legacy rooted in Southeast Community College. A 1980 graduate of SCC's Electrical Engineering Technology program, he credits a chance conversation with his program chair for steering him toward a career in HVAC controls. That path eventually led him to Omaha, where he became partner and later president of Mechanical Sales, Inc. – Nebraska.
The SCC connection didn't stop with Mark. His twin sons, Will and Andy, both went through SCC's HVACR program before joining the family business. In fact, the Mechanical Sales team is comprised of more than 20% SCC graduates.
In 2010, Mark received SCC’s Distinguished Alumni Award and Will followed in his footsteps winning the honor in 2023. Now, the Morris family is extending that legacy further: they've recently established the Mark Morris Family – Transfer Path Scholarship at SCC. This endowed scholarship supports students in the HVAC program who started their post-secondary pathway elsewhere and transferred to SCC to complete their degree.
"I am grateful for all Southeast Community College has done for my family and our business," Mark said. “My education at SCC was my path to possible and the cornerstone of continuous technical learning.”
