Kristin Yates

Administrative Director of Institutional Research and Decision Support

Dr. Kristin Yates serves as Administrative Director of Institutional Research and Decision Support at Southeast Community College, translating data into meaningful insights that shape institutional growth, enrollment strategies, and facility planning. A dedicated champion of SCC’s mission, she served on the college’s Board of Governors from 2017 until September 2025, when she joined the Administrative Team to lead institutional research college-wide.

In her role, Dr. Yates ensures that SCC’s vision and strategic initiatives are anchored in sound analysis and focused on community impact. Her career bridges education, state leadership, and technology, having directed institutional research and IT initiatives for both the Nebraska Department of Education and the University of Nebraska.

Her educational background reflects a lifelong commitment to learning and to Nebraska. Alongside earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law and a doctorate, master’s, and bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, she is also an SCC alumna, holding a certificate from the college’s Computer Information Technology program.

Deeply invested in southeast Nebraska, Dr. Yates actively gives back to the region both on and off campus. Outside her work at SCC, she serves her neighbors as a volunteer EMT, enjoys hunting for fossils across the local landscape, and spends time at home with her dogs and cats.
