Three new Board of Governor members sworn in

Three newly elected members of Southeast Community College’s Board of Governors and one incumbent were sworn in during the Board’s regular monthly meeting Jan. 17 in Milford. Sandi Hoffman, the fourth newly elected member, was unable to attend the meeting and will be sworn in at a later date. She will represent District 1.

New members sworn in are Brandon Gunther of Hickman (District 2), Joann Herrington of Lincoln (District 5) and Carina McCormick of Lincoln (District 4). Incumbent Nancy Seim of Lincoln (District 3) also was sworn in. Each member sworn in is beginning a four-year term.

Officers also were elected during the meeting. Neal Stenberg (at-large) was elected chair, Arlyn Uhrmacher (District 5) vice chair, Dr. Jim Sherwood (District 3) secretary, and Dr. Kristin Yates (District 4) treasurer. Other Board members are Kathy Boellstorff of Johnson (District 2) and Chuck Byers of McCool Junction (District 1). Faculty representative is Linda Hartman, a member of the Business faculty.

SCC is governed by an 11-member Board of Governors representing five districts in the College’s 15-county area. Each district is represented by two members. There is one at-large seat on the Board.
