Global Education Hosts Scholarship Fundraiser

Southeast Community College’s Global Education program is holding a fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 4:30-7 p.m. at Course Restaurant at the Lincoln Campus. Tickets are $40 and includes hors d’oeuvres, drinks, live music, and more to build the study abroad scholarship fund.

“This fundraiser is years in the making. We have had a scholarship for quite a while, but last year a generous donor helped us to secure endowment, and this event allows the scholarship to flourish,” said Nicole Trevena Flores, Global Education coordinator. “Study abroad is often a life-changing experience. This scholarship supports our students to do just that.”

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to the Dr. Jim Isemann Student Travel Scholarship fund. A history instructor at SCC for more than 20 years, Isemann died on Aug. 11, 2022, after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Isemann relished in seeing and experiencing the world, and his passion for world travel is a legacy which lives on at SCC.

Tickets for this event are available online.
